Odisha Police SI Exam Scam: Arrests Rise to 122, Crime Branch Intensifies Interrogation

The number of arrests is increasing in the Police SI examination scandal managed by the Odisha Police Recruitment Board (OPRB). The Crime Branch, investigating the case, has so far arrested 122 individuals, including 117 candidates, 2 middlemen, and 3 bus drivers. The Crime Branch is interrogating each arrested accused individually, with candidates being grilled until 3 AM. A six-member team led by the Crime Branch DG is conducting the interrogation, supported by a 14-member team led by the Berhampur SP, which includes 10 DSP-rank officers and 2 Additional SPs. The arrested candidates will be produced in court today, and the Crime Branch plans to take them on remand to investigate the extent of the bribery network. It was revealed that the 117 arrested candidates had paid ₹10 lakh each, with a deal to pay another ₹15 lakh each after the examination. The OPRB had received intelligence on Monday that an Andhra Pradesh-based organization was transporting question papers to them by bus. Based on this information, a three-member board meeting was held on Monday evening, chaired by DG Prisons and OPRB Chairman Sushant Kumar Nath.
