Mrs Cameraman Gets Her Nails Done | Cracked Ice Design

Hi everybody Welcome to the Kirsty Meakin Shoooooooow! And we’ve got a very special guest, Hayley Bouabda! What a lovely anniversary present from Adam. We’re going to do a super in depth video on prepping these nails and doing a cracked iced design. So, Hayley’s nails are different shapes and sizes and the first thing I’m going to do is prep the cuticles. I’ll show you with an e-file and with a cuticle pusher just to show the difference between the two techniques and finish the rest off with my e-file. I prefer using an electric file on my clients but for clients like Andrea, I’ll prep the nails manually because she has really thin skin. I’m going to pick my tips out and then pop them on the nails, Hayley’s nails are weird shapes so I have to be careful putting them on and I will have a little bit of a gap at that contact point. I’ll cut my tip and then pinch them a little with my finger before blending them in with my file. I’m going to start with a very thin base of clear acrylic for strength and adhesion. I’m then going to apply clear gel from Mystic Nails with my BrenDek brush and before I cure I’m going to take some thin plastic, pop it on the nail and crinkle up the gel. I’ll then cure that nail quickly. On the other nail I’ll do the same but with the plastic, I’m going to stretch it out first to make the wrinkles for the nail and press that into the nail - I prefer the results of this one. I’m going to use a silicone tool to apply Nailchemy’s Interstellar chrome powder to the nail and then again with Constellation Stardust from Lecente. I’m then going to go in with Kelpie gel polish over that gel to highlight that design. I’m going to add a little more chrome powder once it’s cured. I’m then going to add a thin layer of gel to seal in the colour and then I’m going to apply my acrylic. I’m going to use Peach to fill in the back of the nail. I’ll then cap the end in clear acrylic. I’ll then file as normal and buff the nail before I top coat the nail. I’m then going in with White Out and the Lily Liner brush to add in lines and sugar those lines with acrylic powder to finish off the nails.
