Teaching punch accuracy to my fighters using 3 training stations. Watch how I break down punch selection, target awareness & ending engagements—uncut session. 🎯 FREE Quiz: Discover YOUR optimal training system → http://www.elcoachcasey.com Welcome to today's boxing class. We're working on punch accuracy—which is really about punch selection and understanding where your opponent's targets are. This is an uncut training session showing how I teach my fighters to be accurate, not just powerful. You'll see three different training stations and how each one builds specific skills. ⏱️ TIMESTAMPS: 0:00 - Today's Focus: Punch Accuracy & Selection 1:45 - Station 1: Mirror Work Breakdown 5:30 - Using Mirror Seam for Head Position 8:20 - Punch Selection Based on Target Location 11:40 - Station 2: Slip Line Training 15:00 - Visual Cues for Accuracy 18:30 - Station 3: Punch Donut (Mitt Work) 22:45 - Real-Time Corrections & Coaching 26:00 - Why We Train This Way 29:00 - Application to Fighting ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🎯 THE THREE STATIONS: STATION 1 - MIRROR WORK: Using the seam where two mirrors meet to understand head position and target awareness. "If I throw a big right hand, I'm going from right to left. This mirror tells me if my opponent's head is over my left toe—that's where I shoot the shot." Learn to see target locations Understand your own head position (you're a target too) Practice punch selection based on where opponent moves Work on exits as part of choreography STATION 2 - SLIP LINE: Using the rope as a visual cue to maintain proper head position while selecting punches. "The visual cue is the slip line so you can throw shots accordingly and get used to the connection between how you feel and how you look." Visual feedback for head positioning Can't go straight left-right (forces proper technique) Connects feeling with visual confirmation Prepares for both orthodox and southpaw opponents STATION 3 - PUNCH DONUT (MITT WORK): Applying accuracy concepts with actual targets—getting "as much bang for your buck." "When you shoot these shots, I need you to turn the toe so we can stay in range and get the next shots. If you can come back in with your shot, so can your opponent." Real-time target selection Immediate feedback from coach Work on staying in range vs exiting completely Understanding hip mechanics for head movement ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 💡 KEY CONCEPTS TAUGHT: Punch Selection Based on Target Location: "The shots I throw are based on the head position of my opponent. The targets of the vital areas I want to hit. All those targets change as my opponent changes." This is why I don't teach 1-2-3 or numbered combinations. Your punches should be based on WHERE the target is, not memorized patterns. You're a Target Too: Understanding where YOUR head is means understanding what your opponent can hit. Every position you take, you need to be able to attack, defend, and move. Exits Are Part of Choreography: "I don't get to throw my shots and then wait to leave. Exit is part of the combination." Watch how I emphasize this throughout—you're never "done" until you've exited safely. Hip Mechanics for Head Movement: "Your toe has more to do with your hip than your hip has to do with your toe. Your hip has more to do with your head than your head has to do with your hip." Detailed breakdown of rolling mechanics and staying in range vs exiting completely. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🥊 TRAINING STRUCTURE: Each station: 1 minute on, 30 seconds off x 3 rounds Why this format? "I want your intentions to be pure. If I give you three minutes, you'll zone out for two minutes and pick up bad habits." This is how we build FOCUSED practice, not mindless repetition. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 💬 COMMENT QUESTIONS: 1. Which station would help your game most—mirror, slip line, or mitts? 2. Do you train punch accuracy or just punch power? 3. How do YOU currently work on target awareness? 4. What training session should I film next?
