I genuinely care about the fit and finish of all of the drums that I build. That's why, when I make a metal shell from scratch. I take the time to hand chamfer all of the holes for the hardware both inside and out. this step insurers perfect contact between the hardware items as well as the mounting screws used to attach them. any fur left behind from a result of drilling a metal hole can prevent these things from seating properly. Also, just from an aesthetic perspective, I imagine a scenario years and years down the line when the new owners of these drums decide to take them apart for servicing, and in that moment I would like them to have a smile on their face when they notice everything, down to the holes in the shell was thought about and executed correctly.
