Note: This video is based on older incarnations of gel pens. The latest pens work much better these days and multi-pack sets are very inexpensive including sets such as the Shuttle Art 180 pen set that comes with 180 refills for about $30-35: https://amzn.to/3uhWy72 I've used these pens for years and include glitter pens, metallic, pastels, neon, and various values of each hue. So far, after several years, I haven't had too many clog but if one does, I just switch out the cartridge to the refill. They're so cheap that I don't expect them to last for 10 years but so far so good. But, the pens that I like even more for straight colors are the paint pens such as the .7mm acrylic Artistro 42 pack pen set for about $1/pen: https://amzn.to/3t5CWkY Paint pens are different but can write on various surfaces unlike gel pens. Paint pens work well on paper, glass, plastic, and various other surfaces. Warning: This isn't an instructional video on how to unclog clogged gel pens. It's a video of me testing out some methods that I've used in the past as well as a couple other methods that I've heard mentioned before as potentially working. My results were that some pens can be unclogged, some semi-unclogged, and some won't work again no matter what I try. Some lines of pens also seem to work better than others probably due to the viscosity and make up of the inks. I try banging the pens, tip down, on my table, blowing in the back of the cartridge opening, and using a lighter on the tip. The first two worked with some pens and the lighter didn't do a thing. I didn't think it would work but I've heard it mentioned so I tried. Conclusion: Uniball Signo pens have always worked well for me but the newer (and really inexpensive) sets on Amazon (like Shuttle Art) also seem to be working very well. Sakura Gelly Roll pens seem to be working very well considering how little I've used mine over the years. Paint pens such as Sharpie and the Miaosun white acrylic pen seem to clog the least and have given me almost perfect performance but paint pens don't come in many different colors like gel pens.
