"In recurrent nose bleed we have to go in depth with the history, examinations and investigations. There should be an underlying cause which has to be picked up. You have to do a complete haemogram, bleeding time, clotting time, prothrombin time, activated partial thromboplastin time, blood group, Rh factor, any other incidental infections have to be picked up by doing a complete blood count. Local examination includes diagnostic nasal endoscopy, radiological investigation includes CT scan or sometimes MRI scan of the para nasal sinuses. We may sometimes pick up a tumor or angiofibroma in adolescent males coming with recurrent nose bleed. In elderly patients rarely we may pick up a malignancy.
