On May 26th, 2017, me and a friend took a ride out to Angus on Route 90 again, and this time we got an epic classic for this trip. Barrie Transit 67504, a 2004 New Flyer D40LF, part of an order of 13 of them, was our vehicle. The ride was epic, as you'll see. For a 13-year old bus she handled the high speeds and bumpy country roads exceptionally, and it was awesome for me hearing this bus go at high speed for the first time after riding them only in town for their whole service lives. This ride gives you the whole outbound leg of the trip, the 6:00 departure of the 90A from Allandale Station in Barrie to just before Headquarters on Canadian Forces Base Borden. No music, no talking from me or my friend, just the unadulterated sounds of the bus and an unobstructed view from the front seat. Enjoy, folks. :) BARRIE TRANSIT 67504 (Retired December 2017) 2004 NEW FLYER INDUSTRIES D40LF ENGINE: Cummins ISL 8.9L EPA2004 TRANSMISSION: Allison B400R5 Gen-2 HORSEPOWER: 280 hp (but with actual power and balls compared to the new stuff :P) SEATING: 38 American Seating Model 850, with blue LaFrance inserts AXLES: Meritor (the best) EQUIPMENT: Trapeze farebox, AVL and stop announcements, Luminator Horizon Gen-1 LED front and side signs, SportWorks bike racks, full heating and air-con (unknown brand, either Thermo-King or Carrier).
