The more popular way to explore the Kibune and Kurama area online is to start from Kurama-dera Temple and then descend from Kibune Shrine. This itinerary is also recommended on the Keihan Electric Railway official website. The benefits are quite obvious: first, there's a cable car at Kurama-dera Temple, so you can climb the mountain a bit less; and the direction of visiting Kurama-dera Temple is more straightforward. However, the downside is that there are more people. This time, we chose to do the opposite. One reason is that we were staying at Kyoto Station, so we could reach Kibuneguchi Station on the Eizan Electric Railway directly by taking the subway and then transferring to a bus. Another reason is to avoid crowds, and also because we thought we might have more energy to walk the mountain path after eating Kibune cuisine. The outbound transportation route is basically the same as recommended by Google Maps. From Kyoto Station, take the Karasuma Line subway to Kokusaikaikan Station, then transfer to bus number 52 and system 33. The signs along the way for transfers are pretty clear, so there's no need to worry about getting lost. A detailed travelogue might take another week or two to come out.
