Recorded at CAAMFest 2025, this conversation brings together the creative team behind BITTERROOT—a deeply community-centered film by director Vera Brunner–Sung. Producers YEEJ Moua, Kazua Melissa Vang, Ki Jin Kim, and cast members Gia Vang and Qu Kue share the step-by-step process of making the film independently while collaborating closely with the Hmong community. YEEJ Moua highlights how special the Hmong Missoula community is and emphasizes the importance of portraying its uniqueness in the film.
