Working in a small town museum does have great rewards....and one of those is when you secure a traveling exhibit from the Smithsonian Institution. Maggie Carlson at the Coronado Quivira Museum did just that. The exhibit is called "The Way We Worked". Five other Kansas towns also get the exhibit, but Lyons had the privilege of having it first. A year's worth of work, pays off 'big-time' for a small town. The Smithsonian exhibit will be on display in Lyon's from now until October 21st, 2012. Other Kansas museums hosting the exhibit following it apprentice in Lyons, include these: Stevens County Library in Hugoton High Plains Museum in Goodland National Orphan Train Complex in Concordia Lumberyard Art Center in Baldwin City Miners Hall Museum in Franklin.
