MORE: https://abc6onyourside.com/news/local... One woman is facing a criminal charge of child endangering after she and another person were fired from a Pataskala daycare center for allegedly abusing a child. Katelyn Strohacker, 23, is accused of using painter's tape to bind a one-year-old. The other person who was fired was not identified. Investigators say parents of the child told them about the abuse on August 7, saying their little girl was abused at the Over the Rainbow Children's Center. Deputies arrested Strohacker. Investigators said she put painters' tape on the child’s eyes, legs, and hands, and left her under a blanket, face down, unattended for an hour. They said she admitted to doing this “on more than one occasion.” No one from the daycare would go on camera, but said in a statement “We became aware of an incident involving a former employee. As a result of the incident, both the employee and her supervisor have been terminated…” One parent rushed to the daycare on Tuesday afternoon upon hearing the news of the abuse. “It's my son, I’ve got to protect him,” said Michala Baker. “It's the first thought for a mom.” Bake said she’s not sure if she’ll entrust her son to the daycare again. “I don't know, I’ve got to talk to my husband,” she said. “This is all so fresh right now.” Strohaker was released from the Licking County Jail on $50,000 bond. It’s not clear if the supervisor who was fired will face charges. The state’s online database of daycare providers shows a number of non-compliance issues with this daycare over the years. In July of this year, inspectors found a leaking ceiling there, and that one employee’s child abuse training had expired. Last year, inspectors found some children left unattended. In 2023, inspectors found an unattended child in one of the daycare’s vehicles. The Ohio Department of Children and Youth said the daycare self-reported this latest issue. The agency will conduct an investigation. #Pataskala #DaycareAbuse #ChildEndangering #OhioNews #DaycareSafety #KatelynStrohacker #ChildAbuse _______________ Stay up to date with our social media: WSYX on Facebook: / wsyxabc6 WSYX on Twitter: / wsyx6 WSYX on Instagram: / wsyx6 Subscribe to WSYX on YouTube: / @wsyxabc6 Daily News Playlist: • 6 On Your Side For more information, visit https://abc6onyourside.com/ Have a news tip?
