14th Graduation Ceremony | Adventist University of Africa | JUNE 6-8, 2025 The Vice-Chancellor’s Welcome Injety, Vincent Richard, PhD Vice-Chancellor Adventist University of Africa My heartfelt congratulations to you on the successful completion of your studies. This milestone you have reached today is the result of your hard work, determination, and perseverance. It is also, importantly, due to God’s leading, guidance, and blessings in your life. Additionally, your achievement is partly made possible by the support of your family and friends. I take this opportunity to thank all those who have supported you in this endeavour. The celebrations of this graduation weekend, along with the prospects that lie ahead, are well deserved and a testament to your dedication, resources, and effort over the years. Adventist University of Africa (AUA) is privileged to have been part of your academic journey and success. I am delighted to learn of the graduating class and its theme: “Empowered to Lead, Inspired to Serve.” Serving others is the hallmark of AUA, as reflected in our motto: “Developing Leaders for Service.” I commend you for choosing such a profound and noble theme and motto; they speak well of your calling, commitment, and preparedness for the future. This theme also reflects the philosophy of Adventist education. As stated in the Church’s policy documents, “Adventist education imparts more than academic knowledge. It seeks to develop a purpose for life, a philosophy of life, faith in God, and respect for the dignity of all human beings…and to promote loving service rather than selfish ambition (SDA Educational Philosophy, p.1). At AUA, our purpose is to provide you with quality, holistic postgraduate and professional education—not only to enhance your knowledge, skills, and competencies needed for the job market but also to cultivate values, character, and a commitment to serve your communities and lead others to eternity. May God help you fulfil your aspirations and dreams, and grant you success in all your endeavours.
