BG railhead arrives in NE Tripura amidst people’s cheers

Leaving no stone unturned the Northeastern Frontier Railway (NFR) on Monday kicked off the broad gauge (BG) railhead to get it arrive here in Agartala junction. This is for the first time that the BG railhead arrived here and the people welcomed it whole heartedly hoping to get the first ever BG passenger train by March this year. However, the engine arrived in Agartala rail station at around 04:05 pm. The BG railhead had left for Ambassa railway station on Monday with HK Jaggi, the General Manager and the General Manager (Construction) NFR, AS Garud, the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), Chief Engineer of NFR Harpal Singh and two Deputy Chief Engineers- BN Bhaskar and Mr. Rajveer on the board. The NFR authority said that the first ever BG passenger train would reach here in the northeastern states of Tripura by March this year if everything falls on the right track. It also said that labourers are working round the clock to complete all necessary arrangements towards paving the way for the BG passenger train. Union Minister of State for Railways Manoj Sinha is expected to arrive here in the state on January 12 to review the ongoing railway project works presently undergoing in the state.
