Istisu is located in the western part of Kalbajar on the slope of the mountain ranges. The village of Istisu in the Kalbajar region is located at an altitude of 2225 meters above sea level. Back in Soviet times, in 1928, a sanatorium was created near the Istisu spring, with famous mineral waters. The resources of the Istisu mineral waters of #Kelbajar and the Istisu sanatorium are known throughout the world. The mineral springs were formed in 1138 near the city of Ganja #Azerbaijan as a result of a strong earthquake, which caused cracks. In their chemical composition and physical properties, these waters are similar to the world-famous springs of #Karlovy Vary (#Czech Republic) and in other properties are unique in the world. In Kelbajar there are deposits of mineral waters with therapeutic and balneological effects - Yukhari Istisu, Ashagi Istisu, Keshdag, Garasu, Tutkhun, Mozchay, which made Kelbajar famous. Mineral waters have a therapeutic effect on the human body, they contain a relatively large number of gases and salts, which contain many useful biologically active elements. Depending on the amount of mineral salts, types of elements (iodine, bromine, etc.) and gases (carbon, sulfur, radon) in the composition of mineral waters, they have a certain effect on the human body and, therefore, are used as a means of treatment. Mineral springs of Istisu consist of 12 active springs. The temperature of the Istisu waters is 58.8 degrees Celsius. In the resorts of #Istisu, people can be treated for gastrointestinal diseases, metabolic disorders, nervous system disorders, diseases of the musculoskeletal system, gynecology and urological diseases. Salts obtained from the waters of the Istisu mineral springs are used for chronic constipation, liver disease, gallbladder disease, gastritis and other diseases.
