This past weekend, our team at TACTICAWARE teamed up with WPA at the annual air show, turning it into an extraordinary showcase of our state-of-the-art volumetric detection system, Accur8vision. While we've been deeply involved in multiple high-profile prison security projects, we decided to take a playful approach to demonstrate our technology’s capabilities, especially aiming to inspire the youngest generation. In an innovative twist, we constructed a simple yet fascinating 3D maze on a 15x15 meter grassy area, monitored by just a single lidar sensor. The setup was impressively quick, taking only a few minutes, yet it unfolded into an intricate artificial scene complete with police cars, watchtowers, traps, and prison cells. The challenge for participants was to navigate from the start to the finish within a set time without hitting any obstacles—which were only visible on a large screen. As players walked across the empty lawn, they had to watch their bounding box on the screen and dodge the virtual dangers. If they hit an obstacle, an alarm triggered, signaling the end of their game. Those who successfully navigated the maze were rewarded with cotton candy, turning the event into a delightful experience for all. The attraction not only highlighted several features of Accur8vision, such as detection alarm zones and pre-alarm zones for player orientation but also showcased our loitering zone with a 180-second timer to escalate the challenge. True to our high-tech setup, players were automatically tracked by a PTZ camera, and the game was enhanced with ambient sounds and a prison siren during alarms. The installation's rapid setup was a highlight, reflecting the agility and efficiency of Accur8vision. The sheer delight of the children, who needed no explanation to immerse themselves in this tech-driven world, was a testament to the intuitive nature of our system. It’s clear that the future favors digital twin technology and volumetric detection over conventional security systems. As we ran out of cotton candy due to overwhelming interest, it was a vivid reminder of the sweet success and potential of integrating fun and function with advanced technology.
