This video is the first part of how I found the solution for the Golden Owl treasure hunt. Here is a companion pdf with a more detailed description of the solution. https://1drv.ms/b/c/a5453ad7237646e4/... My more detailed video: • How I stayed on the Trail of the Golden Owl There are a few rules, tricks or concepts that are needed for solving the game. 1) You should stay on the trail, which means that you either follow a line or a road at all times (as said in enigma 780). 2) The visual of enigma 500 contains false clues, the clues are very useful for inspiration, but wrong. For example, when you go back from Roncesvalles you don't use the ruler, no line is drawn to Carignan. This is the only exception to the first rule. Another example, the walrus is the cliff at Dabo, which means that you should look at the other side of Carignan, at about the same distance, where you find Arras. 3) There are two bows and three archers in the game. You need to find two spirals, which represent the bows. The third archer borrows a bow. On the Michelin map the spirals are at Arras and Mont Saint-Michel. On the "treasure map" the volutes are at Arras and the top of the cello. The bows are used to shoot Apollo's arrow. The owl is found where you find Apollo's arrow (enigma 420). 4) You need to find the sentinels on the roof of Eglise de l'Emm. The sentinels Archangel Michael, Alpha and Omega (beginning and end) will serve as inspiration through the game. At the end you are at the beginning (see quote by T. S. Eliot), is a saying that may help you. 5) There is only one opening, the opening is the eye of the bird. The concept of overlaid maps is a useful trick for navigating the game. 6) The visuals are essential for solving the game. I think MV said that the game was originally designed without visuals, but in the published form it would be unsolvable without the visuals. 7) When you leave the Michelin map the compass is turned 180 degrees. 8) Returning Napoleon's remains (Retour des cendres) is an important concept. It is done three times. When you reach Les Invalides you know that the stage is completed. The first time gives the point from where to exit the Michelin map (Part 1). The second gives the final zone (Part 2), and the third time you get the location of the owl (Part4).
