Hierophant Meadery Part 1 of our 3 part series where my guest, Mark Zambron, and I taste two meads from Hierophant Meadery. One is a Session Chai 5.5% ABV metheglin with Reishi mushroom and the other is the Mazer Cup 2016 Gold Medal winner, Hawthorn/Tulsi 12% ABV metheglin. Fantastic! Be sure to look for Parts 2 and 3 for all six of the meads we tasted from this high quality meadery. Hierophant Meadery is owned and operated by Jeremy and Michelle Kyncl out of Mead, Washington (great city name!) Jeremy is the mead maker while Michelle is the "mover and shaker" of the operation. They are also Herbalists and in their love for plants they specialize in making metheglin, which is mead made with herbs and spices. As a result, they excel at creating mead with complex and exquisite aromas and flavors.
