Moolock Mountain is a quiet, less-visited summit in the central Cascades, offering rewarding panoramic views of the surrounding ridges and peaks. For this hike, we approached from the east via Bessemer Road, turning off at a gap in the ridge, and at about 4,150 feet, we began scrambling along the ridge crest toward the summit. The route includes a few scree sections and some brush, but it’s mostly straightforward class 2 scrambling. The main crux occurs at 4,367 feet, where the terrain steepens and becomes more challenging, especially when covered in snow.
