The jig is up, the news is out... Replacing the third brake light on your 2015+ Jeep Renegade when the lens invariably falls out isn't nearly as difficult as the internet would have you believe. 20 minutes and a few hand tools and you can do it yourself, saving yourself a trip to the dealer. To do the job, you'll need: Brake light assembly, Mopar P/N 68247167AA, available from your local dealer, from a variety of online parts distributors, or you can do what I did and order it from eBay. A 10mm short or long socket for the spoiler retaining nuts and bolts. I used a short. A 8mm long socket for the brake light retaining nuts. A short extension Some way of turning those sockets. I used a nut driver and cordless screw gun, but you can just as easily use a ratchet to do everything. I used quarter-inch drive, but use what you have available to you. That’s it. You could use some sort of trim removal tool to release the window surround trim, but I found that my fingers worked just as well.
