An island on the west coast of Norway, Bremangerlandet features pretty spectacular scenery, with Vetvika and Hornelen, the tallest seacliff in Europe being some of the highlights. Unlike some sights in Norway like Pulpit Rock, Trolltunga and Flåm, where you have to walk slowly in queue with hordes of tourists, this is a hidden gem. Unfortunately the energy company Sogn og Fjordane Energy (SFE) wants to build 18 gigant wind turbines in this beautiful landscape, in the middle of the bird migration routes to the Arctic, affecting bird populations of Africa, Europe, UK and Russia. The project will drain peat bogs and release large quantities of CO2 into the atmosphere, and risks polluting the drinking water of the population. We say NO. Let nature be nature! Spread the word so future generations can both visit and live in Bremanger without seeing and hearing a industrial wasteland in all directions.
