Please make sure you do not clip any part of the wing that still has dark blue in it. That part still contains blood. Mature feathers are like fingernails and hair. They contain no nerve endings. It is completely safe to clip the birds. Also remember that when you're clipping feathers, you're not clipping them so the bird can drop to the floor, you clip them so the bird can go out to a safe landing no more than 7 to 10 feet in front of you, try as they might, but that's exactly what you want. It will still be able to get exercise but will not be flying into the walls. Also a good idea to do this so it doesn't fly out the window and get lost in the neighborhood.
