The opening track from "Unity" with my amazing quartet of Emil Nerstrand (Sax) Davie Ryan (Drums) and Tom Hodge (Piano, Clarinet), performed in Live At St. Luke's and shot by the always supportive Maurice Supple, who did a beautiful job. Although it's just the opening ballad of the show, I'm really happy to finally release something from it. It's taken me a while to do so.. the dawning realisation that I am too much of a perfectionist with my own music, and for many reasons this is far from perfect, but it is as good as it could be given lots of factors. I really find it hard to release anything, especially when it's you playing your own pieces, while also creating the lighting, projections, and after that mixing the audio and editing the video. I only say that, so one can watch with knowing eyes I guess. But I am happy to share this raw document of what was a significant event for me as person. To start fully realising and releasing my own work in this genre I've loved for so long, something I plan to do a lot more of this year in general. Huge thank you to Sinéad Dunphy for supporting it. And Ed O'Leary Joe Kelly and Guinness Cork Jazz for presenting it. Hopefully will be showing it again soon. More tracks to come, lots more with electronics and those lights do do something... Hope you enjoy.
