Pour composer son premier album, le chanteur Gjon's Tears a trouvé beaucoup d’inspiration à la Fondation Jan Michalski de Montricher (VD) *** Copyright RTS - Télévisions Suisse *** ENGLISH TRANSLATION thanks to Lislot Good evening, it's Gjon's Tears, and today I'm taking you to my little corner of paradise, and my little corner of paradise is here, the Jan Michalski Foundation in Montricher (transl.: in the canton of Vaud, Switzerland). This foundation is a place of peace, I think, where there is a magnificent library with books of all languages, it is there also that I discovered Albanian literature. I come back here regularly to recharge my batteries, to get inspired, and to find peace as well. It inspired me quite a bit for this album - I can't say that I wrote a whole song, but I often wrote snippets here. The album is called The Game because I see life as a game, it's like a puzzle for me, every song is a round. What I put forward is my pluriculturalism, the fact that I am of Albanian origin but born in Switzerland. So I want to explore the French language, but also put forward my English inspirations, and a bit of Albanian in a song. What's fascinating about languages is that they don't all deliver the same message. With French I can frontally talk about very hard themes, like in Cancer. And then English can bring up themes that French hardly can, because it might sound kitschy.... I like English a lot for that, it is for this simplicity of saying things. It's true that, when I discover this place, every time I come back it's like a new first time, because it's so exceptional that, when it's foggy or when it's sunny or when it's raining, this place has a different sound.
