This film follows Linn-Mar High School's varsity show choir, Tenth Street Edition. Linn-Mar has two other show choirs not included in the film: In Step and Hi Style. Tenth Street is directed by Bob Anderson. BACKGROUND After being asked to make this film, I stepped in on a number of practices. I was surprised by the amount of work that goes into the show. Each practice runs three hours, and these students endure quite the workout. As someone who was not inclined to go to show choir performances and competitions, I now consider myself a convert. TECHNICAL The film was made on a Sony NEX 5. I decided to rely completely on a 60-300mm lens to create a very shallow depth of field. I filmed almost entirely stationary from a tripod because I thought that would best compliment the quick pace of the dancers.
