SUBSCRIBE TO OUR NEXT WEBINARS: https://forms.office.com/r/878uNLnYKf 29th of April, 2024 This is the eleventh event of a webinar series arranged by the permanent working group on Human Behaviour in Fires by the International Association for Fire Safety Science (IAFSS). Juraj Kmec – Sensitivity Analysis in Pedestrian and Evacuation Modeling Sensitivity and uncertainty analysis are tools that can offer valuable insight into models that are otherwise considered black boxes. This contribution presents the most popular sensitivity and uncertainty analysis techniques and surveys their use across pedestrian and evacuation modelling. A case study involving a simulated evacuation of a heterogeneous crowd is shown as an illustration. Yuxin Zhang - How to model evacuation behaviour in fire: a coupling numerical approach using CFD and CA models Existing numerical models often fall short in embedding fire development into the evacuation process, neglecting the adverse effects of fire. This study presents a comprehensive framework detailing the real-time coupling of fire development using Computational Fluid Dynamics and pedestrian movement using Cellular Automaton models, which fully considers the influence of fire on people’s decision-making and movement. 00:00 Introduction by Erica Kuligowski 08:30 Presentation by Juraj Kmec 22:00 Presentation by Yuxin Zhang 40:00 Open discussion
