This video goes over how I modified my fuel system to greatly reduce fuel starvation while running E85 at the track by installing a secondary fuel pump in the passenger side of the fuel tank. It was successful but not perfect. I still fuel starve at 1/2 tank. But prior to this, I couldn't even do 5 laps without fuel starving despite going out with a 100% full tank. So for me it was hugely successful and enables me to use E85 when I effectively could not before. Your experience may vary. I installed the Verus Fuel Door while I was NA and it helped a little bit but once I went FI it wasn't enough. I'm not ready to take the plunge on a surge tank and all that those entail, not to mention the cost. For about $100 and topping off between sessions I am very happy with this solution! I've done 5 track days now with this setup and so far so good. I'll come back and edit this if that changes. The service manual torque spec for the fuel basket lock ring is 63 ft lb Things I bought: Submersible Rubber Fuel Hose, 8mm ID for the pump I chose. I got two feet and trimmed a little. http://www.radiumauto.com/Submersible... Hose Clamps, (18-0031). You could probably use whatever, but I liked this design http://www.radiumauto.com/Hose-Clamps... Fuel Pump. I liked this for the low current draw, price, and size. It's also designed for this application. https://deatschwerks.com/products/9-1... I did get a few fuel leaks - JB weld connection didn't like to be flexed and will leak a small amount if flexed much at all, I had to redo it, but it would hold if left alone. The green gasket between the fuel basket assembly and basket lock ring is intended to be 1 time use - if you reinstall the lock ring many times, it may also begin to seep fuel. In both cases the leaks are VERY small, never enough to leak on the ground, I never felt it was dangerous, but clearly still not what you want to see. Mine would only seep at Full tank, but of course, thats where I kept it to avoid fuel starvation. All said and done it was still worth it to chase those personal best laptimes on e85 - but I had to constantly monitor for fuel seepage and top off in between sessions - which may not be ideal for most people. I consider this a mod only for dedicated track cars. Don't do this if you are a casual driver. Just run 93 in that case. I'm now on IG as slothc7
