Back in the day, he had a slow on every empowered Q, then later he would have to build stacks on enemies to earn a stun, then later that was moved to his E. Initially I hated the Spire mechanic and this edition of Skarner, but after trial and error and playing him all sorts of ways, I found a way I truly enjoyed him, and at the time, that meant Nashor's Tooth and movespeed. Yeah, it was a different time. Though perhaps by accident, we're paying homage to all those different ways I tried to play Skarner, building our AD item, Trinity Force, our AP item, Riftmaker, and a bit of both and lots of Attack Speed with Terminus. Hopefully this won't be the last game I play with him until the rework, but people tell me that rework is merely patches away. We'll know for sure when he arrives on PBE.
