Had nice sleep inside the car parked at Fauji Restaurant, Lunkaransar (NH-62). Food was fantastic the previous night, sarson ka saag and makki ki roti, kadak and delicious. Weather was cool, no safety issues, no disturbance at all. Truck traffic was much reduced this time though, may be due to new highway, Amritsar-Jamnagar Expressway (NH-754A). Received a very shocking message, a close colleague, whom we regularly meet and party, sing songs and dance, left for heavenly abode the previous night…very shocking. Drove to Lunkaransar Lake, spent some quiet time and then drove further towards Shri Dungargarh. From Shri Dungargarh diverted towards Chhapar. The road, a state highway, had scant traffic but very scenic, green sarson ke khet, drip irrigation, greenery all around and shining patches of golden sand dunes in between. Chhapar was a delight as always, playground of black bucks, chinkaras, wild boar, Sāmbhar deer, desert fox and many a resident and migratory birds. Loved walking through the large open ground dotted with colorful shrubs and golden wild grass. A large flocks of black bucks and Sāmbhar deer freely moving all over without fear. Chhapar is perhaps the only place in India where such large number of black bucks roam about freely outside of any restricted territory. May be because of the local population which loves and protect these beautiful denizens. Left Chhapar in the evening and drove towards Nagaur. Found a nice highway dhaba, Raj Midway Restaurant near Deh (NH-58) just before Nagaur, parked the car, enjoyed yummy food and slept inside the car…!!!
