Replacing The Purge Valve On Our 2006 Buick Lacrosse

I had to replace the purge valve in the EGR system on our 06 Buick Lacrosse based on the engine code I got from the Autel OBDII scanner I am reviewing. I went and got the part so I could see if the engine will get better gas mileage after replacement. First I had to remove the engine cover which was very simple and done with no tools on this car. Next I located the purge valve on the engine, near the back behind the intake. I then removed the single bolt which holds it in place using a 10 mm socket. Next I carefully removed the electrical wiring. And then I had to figure out how to remove the hose itself. This took me a minute but I got it. There is a spring loaded clip which holds it in place. Then I had to clean the area where the old part was due to corrosion and dirt. And finally I put it all back together again with a new part. The car should get batter gas mileage now. Time will tell.
