This video contains the introduction to the book which gives us a peek into Somali culture and language. Somalia, a country in African, is where the author is originally from. Reading this book with my son is the reason why I have chosen to handle myself differently during this election. Please read it with your children and share this story with others. We got it from the local library (yay for libraries and the Wake County Library Bond). I hope everyone can see that there is a certain way we are teaching our children. What happens as grown-ups doesn't have to be. We really need to think about what we're emulating for our children. I do not own this book. I'm sharing it in hopes that this whole series will get the attention it deserves. Congrats to the author, Siman Nuurali, and the illustrator, Christos Skaltas, for what they created.
