And if they were told it was abnormal, then they were told it’s in their head!Well it’s likely not in your head and if gynecologically nothing was diagnosed then it’s highly likely that muscles are the reason for you pain. There can be several reasons why this is happening, but so often women are NOT told that the muscles that are in this area could be the culprit of why they are not experiencing pleasurable intercourse.Muscles???Yes muscles….you have muscle DOWN there! They line, like a saddle, from your pubic bone back to the tailbone and create a hammock type affect for the urethra, vagina and rectum. So you can image if you had any issue surround these areas that you might have problems. So often if you are experiencing pain with intercourse then the reasons are likely tight spasmed muscles in this area along with other joint issues surrounding your hip, pelvis and abdomen. Young women may also have noticed that they have pain with inserting a tampon or have pain with a bowel movement of even gynecologic exams. If you do then again highly likely that your muscles are involved.At our clinic, about 70% of our cases involve issues with these muscles.
