20251230 China adventure. Hangzhou 🇻🇳

Our first day in China & our mission is to discover Hangzhou. The hotel has a fab breakfast selection including good coffee, something I feared in a tea drinking country. First impressions? It's damn cold! We boarded our bus & headed to West Lake, the centre of Hangzhou. A misty day obscured the view somewhat, still stunning & a pleasant walk on the waterfront. We encountered a huge crowd, a Chinese K-POP style character promoting YeYeTea. Then Hangzhou Shibuya crossing. A fab lunch then a cruise on West Lake & a visit to Leifeng Pagoda. Another delicious dinner, a trend continued throughout the trip. Next day some retail therapy at Xaiohe Street, lunch, then a rather odd arts & crafts museum, the Grand Canal, & another watery shopping street. The last saved by Lawrence buying a small bottle of Jameson to beat the cold! Dinner & rest before New Year celebrations. We opted for the pub from last night & although freezing cold, we had a fantastic night 🐲🀄🐴🍷🤣🍻😎😍🥃🇻🇳
