Money being little tight this year and I didn't want to to put hundreds in one or spend hundreds on used one, so I shopped around and did all the work myself. I was gunsmith apprentice for years and also sold guns. I have broke down the cost of each item and so you how you can build a VERY accurate and fun 10/22 for under $400! Dicks has the Ruger 10/22 standard model for only $179! Please note I sold the factory barrel and stock on Ebay for $70! So my total cost for the build was under $390. Well minus the taxes on the rifle. Its a pretty easy build. I did some work on the trigger also, which I wont get into. After zeroing in the scope I was able to get all the rounds touching dead center at 50yds and an under 1in group at 100yds. So was pretty happy.
