First Impressions: Arctic Cat 2026 EXT Special

Thanks to Northland Ag & Turf in Grand Rapids, MN, I'm bringing you my raw, unfiltered and unedited first impressions of the EXT Special a new model built on the Catalyst platform with electronic Power Steering. I'm not sure how Arctic Cat did it, but they made this system so intuitive that it feels completely natural and not overboosted. Watch the video and please subscribe, it would mean a lot to me. The EXT has the best of everything. Many riders I've talked to would rather not spend as much money on a snowmobile, and don't believe they need all the bells and whistles. But, I see a lot of EXT's on the trails this winter! It's popular! But, why? EPS has a lot to do with it, because they were able to add C&A Pro skis without the added penalty in steering effort. EPS allows you to control exactly where the skis are pointed very precisely. It's amazing how well it works! The EXT is only available with the new 858 engine, and that didn't disappoint - gobs of power and very wide powerband. I did find it a little hard to modulate the throttle down low, mainly because of the amount of power available at low RPM's. But, they've done a great job on this engine and it's a lot of fun.
