Hi all, Happy New Year to you wherever you are in our world. Here we see an extremely rare occurrence where two of the ten preserved Rx Class locomotives of the former South Australian Railways reunite on the famous Cockle Train service between Goolwa & Victor Harbor. Monday, December 27, 2021, marked 32 years since Rx 224 has been with her sister Rx 207 on the South Coast, the last time was in 1989. This video covers double-heading operations on Tuesday 28th of December 2021. Part 1 consists of the trip between Goolwa and Port Elliot, which is the oldest part of the line having been built as Australia's First Railway with iron rails in June 1854. Another engine also makes an appearance, Duke of Edinburgh 621, a 140-ton SAR Light Pacific locomotive built in 1936 for express passenger services. Part 2 will feature scenes from Middleton Crossing Loop, Victor Harbor among other locations. We hope you enjoy it!
