Many people think hypothermia only happens in snowy mountains, but in reality, it can occur in cold weather, rain, wind, poorly heated homes, or after being soaked in water — even in mild winter conditions. In this video, Dr. Noman Mashhadi explains hypothermia in a simple and practical way and guides you through life-saving first aid steps that anyone can perform before medical help arrives. You will learn: ✔ What hypothermia is and why it is so dangerous ✔ Early and late warning signs of hypothermia ✔ What to do immediately if someone is severely cold or unconscious ✔ How to safely warm the body ✔ What actions can be fatal and must be avoided ✔ When emergency hospital care is absolutely necessary Common warning signs include intense shivering, slurred speech, confusion, extreme tiredness, cold and pale skin, slow breathing, slow pulse, and in severe cases, unconsciousness. A very dangerous sign is when shivering stops — this often means the body is running out of energy and the situation has become critical. In a hypothermia emergency, time is life. The first step is to move the person away from the cold environment. Replace wet clothes with dry ones and wrap the person in warm blankets, jackets, or any available insulating material. Focus on warming the core of the body first — chest, abdomen, and back. Avoid aggressive rubbing of hands and feet, as this can push cold blood back to the heart and trigger dangerous heart rhythms. If the person is conscious and able to swallow, give warm, sweet drinks. Never give alcohol. Do not place the person in hot water, do not massage forcefully, and never leave them alone. If the person is unconscious, breathing is slow, or the patient is a child, elderly, diabetic, or heart patient, seek emergency medical help immediately. This video is designed to raise awareness and prepare you for a real-life emergency. Knowing these steps can help you protect your family, your community, and possibly save a life. 👉 Watch till the end and share this video. Someone you know may need this information one day.
