Step into a former gold–silver mine that last operated in 1983, located in a mining district first discovered in 1862. That long history means you’ll see multiple “generations” underground—newer workings cutting into, connecting with, and sometimes revealing much older tunnels and stopes from the district’s earliest days. Lighting note: This mine is naturally dark—these walls eat light. Once I got inside and realized how much the rock was absorbing, I turned my light up to full power to compensate. I brightened it where I could, but I’m keeping it realistic so you can see what it actually looked like down there. If you enjoy real-time POV exploration, historic mining history, and the hidden layers of old workings beneath the desert, you’re in the right place.
