By now, you may have seen the viral video of a man in the Joker costume attacking people and setting a train on fire in Tokyo. On the night of Halloween, the Joker ended up injuring as many as 17 people with a knife, and according to the local media, the suspect told authorities that he “wanted to kill people so he could be sentenced to death.” This is actually the second mass knife attack in two months. But Japan has the reputation for being one of the safest countries in the world, so how can something like this happen repeatedly? How do the locals feel about these incidents and the public safety in general? Our Asian Boss reporter hit the streets of Tokyo to find out. The opinions expressed in this video are those of individual interviewees alone and do not reflect the views of ASIAN BOSS or the general Japanese population.
