Driving the 2020 Ford Ranger on an everyday drive. making a run to the grocery store. Transmission works great in sport and tow haul mode, but in regular drive mode......the computer tries to give you the best mpg it possibly can. Which means, lots of lugging in normal drive mode. Lugging is a condition when acceleration is applied on a vehicle when the vehicle is in too high a gear to accelerate smoothly. Most times transmissions will go into a lower gear to increase horsepower and torque providing smooth and quick acceleration. Some people may be ok with this and drive slowly or just mash the gas. Still a great Ranger for the money, and plenty of truck for what I use it for.
