It’s one of the awesome things to do in Mt Hutt when the mountain is closed or during summer. We hit the Mt Hutt walks at the base of Mt Hutt in the Awa Awa Reserve. There are many different tracks ranging from 15 minutes to 2 hours. It’s an awesome example of New Zealand native forest with lots of New Zealand birds like fantails and rifleman. After our walks at Mt Hutt, we go back into Methven New Zealand and have some lunch at the Arabica Cafe in Methven.
