DIY - Roman Scutum for Provocator

This is the second scutum I made and it is by far better than the previous one! It is more durable, heavier, has a better curvature and is allround superior. I started with three sheets of 4mm wood which i glueg together. I then strapped the plank to my form and let it dry. After sanding the edges i attached a thick cord to give it more durability and glued a linen cloth over the front, so it can be painted easily. The shield will be a Provocator Shield, slightly bigger than my other one. But the biggest difference will be the handle as I don‘t use a centergrip for this scutum but rather a normal handle and an ellbow strap. This is very much important as the combatstyle that these kind of shields produce is my favorite one.
