Hey everyone! So I am back with a 'fun' little project I wanted to work on in the Spirit of Halloween. I purchased a whole lot of the Pokemon Halloween merch for this year and Scarecrow Mimikyu is absolutely my favorite part of it! Its such a simple yet adorable design so I knew I wanted to make it. Initially this was supposed to just be a little quick thing. It only took about 5 working days to complete it but it was a bigger pain than I had originally anticipated. Overall though I really love how it turned out! Part 2 will have the creation of all the scarecrow bits to finish off the look! ▶ More Details: ▸ Base Pattern : Simplicity Super Easy Capes - W0244 I cant seem to find this anywhere online. I got it from Wal-Mart for $4 and its just a hooded cape that ties in the front. I modified this pattern by removing the front closure and back seams so I had just one large front piece and one large back piece. I then measured and cut out some sleeve holes and attached sleeves. For the hood modifications i simply made it less wide and a bit shorter so it fit on my head. This adjustment will depend on your own head size & shape! ▸Fabric Paint : Black - http://bit.ly/2xwLB3T || Red - http://bit.ly/2xwavkl You can use any kind of fabric paint, these are just the ones I already had. The red is technically a leather paint but it worked just fine for this project. ▸ Fleece & Foam fillers were purchased from Joanns In the end you can use whatever supplies works best for you or your preferences! And the best thing to remember- Mimikyu made their costume all by themselves with stuff they found laying around. It doesnt have to be perfect. The imperfections are what make your cosplay unique to you so mix up your design. Dont make carbon copies of what you see in this video because you'll love it so much more with your own personal touches!
