The 14th edition of the Delhi Literature Festival 2026 began with a grand and inspiring Inaugural Session at IGNCA, Janpath, setting the tone for three days of literature, culture, and dialogue. The festival was formally inaugurated by Shri Vijender Gupta, Hon’ble Speaker, Delhi Legislative Assembly; H.E. Mr. Juan Antonio March Pujol, Ambassador of Spain; Smt. Bharati Bhargava, Founder Director (DLF); Shri Kunal Gupta, Program Director and Founder of Delhi Book Lovers Club; and Shri Ajay Sharma, veteran of the Indian Industry Association and key architect behind the festival’s continued success. The ceremonial lighting of the lamp marked the beginning of this literary journey, symbolizing the movement from darkness to light. This year’s theme, “Sahitya, Sanskriti aur Samriddhi," reflects the larger national vision of “Vikas bhi, Virasat bhi”—progress rooted in heritage. The Ambassador of Spain spoke about the 70 years of diplomatic relations between India and Spain and reflected thoughtfully on the evolving relationship between literature and artificial intelligence, drawing parallels from the history of art and photography. Shri Vijender Gupta showcased the commemorative coffee table book "Shatabdi-Yatra: Vithalbhai Ki Gaurav Gatha" and emphasized Delhi’s rich historical and parliamentary legacy, connecting literature, heritage, and national identity with the vision of a developed India by 2047. © Delhi Literature Festival.
