“PAØLO” from our studio in Corso VI Aprile 139 Alcamo, Sicily. Born in 1979, Paolo discovered music at an early age under the influence of his older brother. After an initial fascination with psychedelic rock, during the 1980s he moved closer to pop and electronic sounds. In the 1990s, strongly inspired by the musical culture of MTV and DeeJay Television, he developed a deep passion for house and techno, marking the beginning of his journey as a DJ. Starting with homemade setups of turntables and cassette tapes, he quickly transitioned to professional equipment and entered the Sicilian underground scene through the Happy Day afterparty. Between the late 1990s and early 2000s, he became known for progressive house and techno sets, further expanding his musical language during an important period in England, where he was exposed to breakbeat and drum & bass. Back in Sicily, he founded influential events and formats such as Aftermania and Electrolab, establishing himself as a key figure in the local techno scene and performing at major clubs and festivals. He later launched Air Club, an innovative space dedicated to club culture, and the InTheWoods project, blending electronic music with nature. In the post-lockdown period, he entered a new artistic phase under the alias Z.O.D. Project, exploring harder sounds like hard techno and industrial while maintaining a strong connection to his progressive roots.
