It can be difficult to insert wires into it, but by pre-threading with some brass tubing, it helps open it up for the wire making it much easier threading the tiny l.e.d. wires. Stretching the braided wire back out tightens it around the l.e.d. wire. I use medium CA glue to secure the wires into the searchlight, then insert a lens that I saved from an old telescope for the search lights lens cover. It fits so well it needs no glue. panzer 1 paint & decal I spray tank base color #2 that I saw on Andy’s Hobby Headquarters, and used vallejo model colors; 70.963 - medium blue, 71.056 - panzer dk. grey, and 70.951 - white. I start with medium blue, then panzer dk. grey + a little white to just change the tone, and use this to create highlights. Decals -**UPDATED DECAL TIMES**- I soak the decal for 10-15 seconds in warm water, then wait 1 minute to release the decal. I've learned that if you leave the decals in the water too long, you can actually wash away the adhesive properties of the decal. I flood the area with micro set, then use a soft bristle brush to position the decal. I wick away excess solution, then use a cotton swab to press in the decal by rolling center to edge. Once dry, I use micro sol on all decals, and apply it 4 times to ensure the decals are secure. Panzer Interior l.e.d. install I didn’t think of lights until after the tank was built, so now I am tucking 2 l.e.d. lights behind the transmission so you only see a wash ion light throughout the tank interior. To secure the wires I have routed out the bottom, I use Baking soda, and CA Glue, which turns rock hard when combined, and while not the prettiest job, it’s secure. Burn Barrel l.e.d. install I begin by thinning the barrel with a rotary tool simulating rusted through steel. I want to preserve the thin edges, then use plastic cement as a seal-coat prior to painting. Now its time for l.e.d.’s. I liked it, but after testing it needed something more. I decided to carve some acrylic rod to look like fire. I want to carry the light ups through a burning fire. Once carved I buff with toothpaste, then move to the barrel to prepare it. I paint the inside with Vallejo Model Air Metallic Chrome paint, (#71.064), then dry brush with the same on the outside. Back to the acrylic, I carve some indents to place wood pieces to simulate fire. The fire is sort of a fire shaped acrylic lens. The Barrel needs to be very rusty, so I use multiple rust washes and dry pigments on it. Smoke. I try both Cotton and Poly fiber for smoke, and talk about the results. I am happy to give a huge thanks to Michael as I did this part of the build after he told me what he does for fire, and I think its the best fire I’ve ever seen!!! Arduino This is the Arduino Pro Micro. This is the one I’m using for all the stuff that I’m building. Arduino is an open-source electronics platform based on easy-to-use hardware and software. Thank you very much for watching, I hope you enjoy this video as much as I did making it for you! Take Care, Bill. Music: “Ready for Change” provided by “Pleasant Pictures Music Club”
