Starting by the fantastic Old Bridge Inn and then heading south down the Speyside Way passing walkers out enjoying the countryside. Passing by Loch Alvie and then onto Kincraig and Loch Insh, passing school children who were on the water having fun with Loch Insh Watersports. We then ventured through a popular dog walking location (I can see why) through Inshriach Forest to one of the most amazing views of the Cairngorms I’ve seen where two friendly tourists allowed me to take their photo (who isn’t friendly when the place is so beautiful). We cycled through Feshiebridge which is a beautiful place for swimming. Maybe I’ll come back when it’s a bit warmer. Although with no midgies it was tempting. Winding through the Moor of Feshie, with the hills to our right we headed to Loch Gamhna, Loch an Eilein and to the amazing Cairngorm Club Footbridge. It must be some special club to have such an impressive bridge built. We passed Loch Morlich and just when I thought we would head back home, my friend (an ex Royal Marine) decided we would visit the Ryvoan Bothy. I’m glad we did (my legs don’t agree) because we met 3 lovely people who were all the way up from Devon. They come up each year and stay in Bothies. They looked so chilled and didn’t have to go through one airport checkin to get here. How chill. Then it was a lovely gentle cruise back to Aviemore along the well maintained forestry paths not far from the busy ski road. Yes we both wished we were skiing but our knees don’t like it anymore. I guess we could pop up the funicular though because the views are amazing and it’s where I learned to ski. I was so glad of the cake my amazing mother in law had made when we got back to the van. That’s my medicine for that day ❤️ Music: Dougie Burns and the Cadillacs Writer : Burns /Macdonald Vocals : Dougie Burns Backing Vocals : Lesley Graham Guitar : Sye Murray Bass: Calum MacLeod Saxophone: James Younie Percussion: David McIntoch Harmonica: Harpdogdavies
