Jake Doolittle is a comedy commentary channel that does videos similar to Danny Gonzalez, Drew Gooden, Kurtis Connor, Jacob Sharpe, Nickisnotgreen, and more. While his videos are almost almost good and funny, I felt like his Fox News video was a miss, and so I created a video about why Jake Doolittle's Fox News video being an issue. To be clear, I enjoy Jake's content and will continue to do so, my objective here isn't to cancel or attack anyone, it's to give constructive, good faith criticism about an issue I saw. MORE INFO: Jake Doolittle: Fox News Has Done It Again w/ Jacob Sharpe • Fox News Has Done It Again w/ Jacob Sharpe CONDENSED SCRIPT: Part 1: I am a huge fan of Jake’s and have been since he popped up on my for you page with his Danny Gonzalez collaboration. Before I start this video I just want to say thank you to all of my patrons for sponsoring this video. Hi Hi sisters, it’s Andrew here, and I’m back with another video. Now, for people coming to this video anticipating some kind of beef or drama, that is not at all my intention. Criticism suggests some kind of conflict or callout, which does not exist. If you’re arby's looking for the beef, please move along, there is none to be had, because I am a vegan in this really bad analogy. My criticism is with the content and the purpose of the video, and criticism is a word I’m using cautiously, because it doesn’t exactly encompass what I’m trying to do. And honestly that’s a pretty chad move. But before I get too lost in the sauce, let’s jump into that first layer of the complement sandwich, which is who Jake is and why I parasocially Stan him. Part 2: Now that the first layer is done, I want to talk about the video itself. Again, I don’t actually disagree with anything in the video, Fox pulled a lot of weird, racist garbage in it, and specifically edited it to make the chinese people they interviewed look dumb, and that’s up and deserves to be criticized. He also does videos where he subjects his friends to the most cursed TikTok he can find, but sometimes he talks about more serious topics like his Bryant Eslava video, where he covers some sketchy things going on there. I had gone from the real world with lots of issues, many of which are at least indirectly the fault of Fox News, into a video, pretty strongly reflecting the real world and it’s issues. But I don’t want that, I watch these videos for a quick break from reality before I have to rejoin the dumpster fire, and with this video I felt like I was just being reminded that, “Hey, in case you forgot that the world sucks and there are people out there actively trying to make it worse, here’s a video of people actively trying to make it worse.” A reasonable person could make an argument that being in denial of this is part of the problem, and that’s true, but I’m not in denial. I see this video, and maybe I decide I don’t like Jake anymore, so I never watch him again and as such I don’t learn about the YouTuber stealing money from his fans, or don’t see a video showing me that maybe Brendan Shaub is actually kinda problematic and not that funny. Part 3: I wanted this message to reach more than just Jake, especially with my “it’s not helpful” section, I wanted to reach more than just Jake’s audience, I wanted to reach people who might hear that and be more receptive of talking to that weird extremist across the street, and take the first steps towards trying to repair the damage partisan media has created. If you watch his going into debt for a Youtube boxing match video, you know he doesn’t have a lot of money, but despite that, he still prioritizes supporting other people, and that’s honestly the most gigachad energy and I respect it. Of course let me know your thoughts in the comments, and as always don’t forget to do good and love everyone and I’ll catch you next video.
