We interrupt this broadcast to bring you an important advisory regarding a significant power outage currently affecting the following counties: Harris County Montgomery County Liberty County Chambers County Brazoria County At 4:15 PM Central Time, a widespread power outage occurred due to severe thunderstorms and high winds causing damage to power lines and substations across the region. Power restoration efforts are currently underway by the local utility companies, but the estimated time for full restoration remains uncertain at this time. Residents in the affected counties are advised to take the following precautions: Avoid unnecessary travel as traffic signals and streetlights may be non-operational. Turn off and unplug electrical appliances to prevent potential power surges when electricity is restored. Use flashlights for emergency lighting; avoid using candles to reduce the risk of fire. Keep refrigerator and freezer doors closed to preserve food. Food can stay cold for up to 4 hours in a refrigerator and up to 48 hours in a full freezer if the doors remain closed. Check on neighbors, particularly the elderly or those with special needs, to ensure their safety. If you rely on medical equipment that requires electricity, please activate your backup power supply or seek alternative care immediately.
