Oregon Coast Lingcod Fishing and Rock fishing turns into a Lingcod Catch and Cook. This is Day 2-3 of a 6 day solo I trip I took to the Oregon Coast, camping out of my SUV and on the hunt for Lingcod. If you missed day 1 check out this link here so you can get caught up!    • Rock Fishing The Oregon Coast, Lingcod FIS...   Day 2 of rock fishing, I was able to find some accessible areas that were putting out the fish, and it made for another amazing day of fishing. By the end of the day I had landed multiple Lingcod and countless Black Bass from the cliffs. At the end of the day I find another great spot overlooking the Oregon Coast new Newport and cook up a nice slab of lingcod in the cast iron skillet. Day 3 was some slow fishing with a few black bass caught, and some nice ones at that, but my target is Lingcod this time around. I did manage to hook another huge lingcod but it came off as I was making my way to a better area to land it. I'm pretty sure I lost this beast of a fish 4 days in a row. I was mainly casting 3-4" swimbaits and grubs on 1/2oz - 3/4oz jigheads.. I found that my most successful setup was a Texas rigged grub on an offset Gamakatsu hook with 1/2 - 3/4oz Bullet weight There will be a lot more Rockfish videos to come as spring progresses and I will also be transitioning back to targeting Chinook and Coho Salmon in our local rivers.
