He visited South Korea's presidential executive office, the Blue House, and was greeted with a welcoming ceremony. The two leaders went on to discuss ways to boost and consolidate economic cooperation on trade, infrastructure and development aid. A memorandum of understanding was also signed by the two sides in relation to grant aid and joint development of railways. "Today, the two heads of state were able to have a deep conversation not only on the cooperation of (our) two countries, but also on current international issues, while sharing a common standpoint about de-nuclearisation in the Korean peninsula and the whole world," said President Lee after the meeting. In an official report on the government website, the Blue House (the Cheongwadae) welcomed the meeting, expressing hopes that it would help to expand cooperation between two states, dating back almost 30 years. President Zardari is expected to spend three days in South Korea, completing his trip on 5 December.
